Welcome to the Evolvepreneur (After Hours) Show

I am your Special Host Richard Wray

Join me today where we dig deep with our guests and get you the best concepts and strategies to fast-track your business.

My very special guest today is Manpreet Dhillon ...

Manpreet Dhillon, founder of Veza Global, was ranked #15 on the 2020 EmPower Ethnic Minority Future Leaders list. With over 20 years of experience, Veza Global specializes in implementing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategies at all organizational levels. Manpreet focuses on creating systemic change to address institutionalized inequalities, prioritizing representation from the communities served.

She has worked with notable organizations such as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, UN Women, and HR Tech Group. Manpreet has also led a trade mission of women entrepreneurs to Croatia and has held positions on various boards. She is a published author and advocate for those living with invisible diseases.

Key Moments:

  • Diversity and inclusion efforts can improve business performance by up to 35% by attracting and retaining diverse talent and improving productivity.
  • Representation matters as it inspires underrepresented groups by showing them that success is possible for them too.
  • Organizations need to support and develop trailblazers from underrepresented groups to inspire more people.
  • Cluster hiring can become siloed and people may feel they were only hired for their identity, so organizations need to integrate and develop individuals holistically.
  • Diversity and inclusion are good business practices that help organizations hire the best talent and build products for diverse customers.
  • Returns on diversity and inclusion investments can take 1-2 years to show in increased revenue.
  • Seniors and people with disabilities are underutilized talent pools that organizations are not tapping into.
  • Inclusion happens when people's expertise is valued regardless of their role or background. This can improve projects and meet client needs better.
  • Having a strong support network is important for entrepreneurs to persevere through challenges.
  • Inclusive cultures require unlearning biases and rewiring ways of thinking to see what else is possible.
